This session is designed to equip participants with practical tools and insights for ethical peer support, trauma-informed communication; foster reflection on real-world challenges and opportunities in recovery leadership, community outreach; and strengthen confidence in applying strategies that honor dignity, collaboration, and lived experience.

What You Will Learn:

• Define core ethical principles relevant to peer support, including dignity, autonomy, mutuality, and integrity.
• Distinguish peer support ethics from clinical or supervisory ethics, emphasizing lived experience and relational boundaries.
• Identify and navigate dual relationships and boundary challenges using real-world scenarios and decision-making frameworks.
• Apply confidentiality standards and understand legal responsibilities such as HIPAA and mandated reporting.
• Demonstrate ethical decision-making through structured frameworks and peer consultation strategies.
• Evaluate appropriate self-disclosure practices and their impact on peer relationships and recovery sustainability.
• Develop a personal ethics statement that reflects individual values and professional standards.
